"Taisnais 2025" double marathon
Competition Regulations
1. Tasks
1.1. To popularize a healthy and sporty lifestyle.
1.2. To help you get to know the most beautiful places and the friendliest people in Latvia.
1.3. Determine the most durable long-distance runners and pole vaulters in Latvia.
2. Organizer
2.1. The competition is organized by the association "Taisnais" in cooperation with the municipality of Ogre region and the municipality of Madona region.
3. Competition time, place, distances
3.1. "Taisnais 2025" (hereinafter - the competition) will take place on October 4 , 2025 .
3.2. The distance leads along the embankment of the former railway line Saurieši - Ērgļi. At intersections, the distance is marked. The distance is clearly visible.
3.3. Distances can be covered by jogging, walking or simply walking, enjoying the beautiful views around.
3.4. The competition will take place in three distances:
3.4.1. Double marathon Saurieši – Ērgļi (84.4 km ):
start - Saurieši. Railway station "Saurieši", 4. at 6:00 a.m. in October
finish (for runners) – "Ērgļi" railway station, until October 4 at 23:00
finish (for pole vaulters) - Railway station "Ērgļi", until October 4 at 23:00
3.4.2. Marathon Suntaži - Ērgļi (42.195 km):
start - Suntaži. Railway station "Suntaži", 4. in October at 10:00
finish (for runners) - Railway station "Ērgļi", until October 4 at 18:00
finish (for pole vaulters) – Railway station " Ērgļi", until October 4 at 20:00
3.4.3. Half marathon Taurupe – Ērgļi ( 21.0975 km):
start – Taurupe, on October 4 at 12:00
finish (for runners) - Railway station " Ērgļi", until October 4 at 18:00
finish (for pole vaulters) – Railway station "Ērgļi", until October 4 at 20:00
3.5. Fans are allowed to accompany competitors on foot or by bicycle without disturbing others.
3.6. It is forbidden for fans to help the participants of the competition to move over the distance.
3.7. The route scheme can be viewed on the website www.taisnais.lv
4. Participants
4.1. Participants who have reached the age of 18 on the day of the start are allowed to participate in the competition.
4.2. Participants under the age of 18 can participate in the competition only with their parents.
5. Participation fee
5.1. The participation fee for the double marathon, marathon and half marathon distance varies depending on the registration time:

5.2. Participants who have left their cars in Saurieši, Suntaži or Taurupe will be taken back to the starting place by the organizers' transport after the finish.

5.2.2. The fixed time schedule of the transport will be published 3 (three) days before the competition.
5.3. "Straight" running shirts can be ordered until September 1 , 2024 , the price of the shirt is EUR 25.00. Orders made after the specified date are made and received after the date of the event, with a separate agreement on receiving the order.
6. Registration and payment procedure
6.1. Registration for the competition is available on the website www.taisnais.lv until October 1 , 2024 .
6.2. If you pay in cash, you can register on the day of the race on site.
6.3. The invoice is prepared and sent to the specified e-mail after registration on the website www.taisnais.lv .
6.4. Payment can be made by bank transfer. The invoice must be paid within 2 (two) weeks from the date of issue.
6.5. The invoice number is specified in the payment order.
6.6. Participants are registered for a selected distance only after receiving payment.
6.7. If the participation fee has not been transferred two days before the competition, the full amount must be paid on the day of the competition.
6.8. Changing the distance is done only once per participant and is free of charge. When changing a shorter distance to a longer one, the difference in the participation fee must be paid when receiving the number on the day of the race. When changing a longer distance to a shorter one, the difference in the entry fee is not refunded.
6.0. Participation fee depending on distance and registration period.

6.11. Participants who do not come to the competition will not be refunded the paid participation fee.
7. Issue of numbers
7.1. Number issuing starts on the day of the race two hours before the start and ends half an hour before the start.
7.2. Numbers are issued for the competition at the registration point - START railway stations (Saurieši, Suntaži and Taurupe).
7.3. The start number may not be transferred to another person.
8. Information about the competition
8.1. Information about the course of the competition, degree of difficulty of the distance and start times is available on the competition website.
8.2. Participants are provided with the distance, participant number, time recording, storage of belongings in the start/finish area, water and refreshments, snacks and meals at the finish, finisher's medal, provision of emergency medical aid, as well as setting up the track infrastructure and ensuring the course, music, delivery of belongings from the start to the finish line, prizes from competition organizers, publication of results, and provision of other relevant services.
8.3. Participants are invited to provide themselves with everything they need for the distance.
9. Transportation
9.1. The organizers are not responsible for the parking of participants' cars in Saurieše, Suntaži, Taurupe and Ērgļi.
9.2. Participants who have left their cars in Saurieši, Suntaži or Taurupe will be taken back to the starting place after the finish by the transport of the organizers for a certain fee and according to a certain schedule.
9.3. Before the start, participants will be able to hand over their belongings to the luggage storage room, which will be taken to Ērgļi, by presenting their member number.
10. Publicity and Privacy
10.1. Photographs and video will be taken during the competition .
10.1.1. Photography and filming will take place with the aim of capturing the Double Marathon Taisnais competition, as well as other activities. The obtained images will be used by the Association "Taisnais" for marketing and publicity purposes in its publications on websites, social media or third-party publications. The legal basis for the processing of personal data is the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Article 6, Part 1, subparagraph f) - the processing is necessary for the legitimate interests of the controller. Association "Taisnais" has a legitimate interest in reflecting its organized events or events in which it participates in the mass media and social networks, thus ensuring the recognition of its brands.
10.2. When applying for the competition, the participants confirm that the organizers have the right to use the photos and video materials taken during the competition for public relations and advertising purposes without coordination with the people appearing in them, as well as to offer the participants the opportunity to download photos and videos.
10.3. When applying for the competition, the participants confirm that they do not object to the publication of the list of participants and results on the website of the competition.
10.4. The publicly visible list of participants shows the name, surname, gender and distance of the participant.
10.5. At any moment, the participant of the competition has the opportunity to request deletion or correction of his personal data.
11. Awarding
11.1. Awards ceremonies for each specific distance take place as soon as the judges have tallied the results. Approximate waiting time – one hour.
11.2. Finishers are awarded a medal at the finish line.
11.3. The first three place winners in the 84km, 42km and 21km running distances are awarded separately by gender.

11. 5. The awarding takes place in Ērgļi 4. in October .
12. Health and Safety
12.1. Each participant, upon receiving the competition number, confirms with his signature that he takes full responsibility for the suitability of his health for completing the distance.
12.2. Every participant, upon receiving the competition number, confirms with his signature that he will comply with the Competition Regulations.
12.3. The organizers of the competition are not responsible for possible health problems or injuries of the participants during the competition.
12.4. In case of withdrawal of the participant, the organizers of the competition do not ensure that the participant reaches the finish line or another place outside the distance.
12.5. In case of health or safety problems, the race organizers should be contacted on the telephone number indicated on the start number.
12.6. The organizers of the competition recommend that every participant of the competition consults his treating doctor or family doctor about his state of health before running the relevant distance.
12.7. The organizers of the competition recommend starting training on time and being responsible for your readiness to complete the chosen distance.
12.8. Fans who can walk, stick or ride bicycles without disturbing other competitors are allowed to accompany competitors during the distance.
12.9. When participants and fans come to the competition with dogs, it is mandatory to provide them with a muzzle. If the dog does not have a muzzle, the competition judges have the right to prohibit the participants from continuing to participate in the event.
12.10. For safety reasons, it is forbidden to use headphones to play music during the competition.
12.11. The participants of the competition must follow the Road Traffic Rules in places where the distance is crossed by roads.
12.12. The organizers invite the participants of the competition to be careful, because other people and vehicles may be in the distance during the competition.
12.13. The organizers of the competition do not take responsibility for participants who do not fit into the specified distance limit.
13. Recommended equipment for all participants of the competition
13.1. Headlamp or hand-held lamp with spare batteries (except for marathon and half-marathon participants).
13.2. Charged mobile phone.
13.3. Foil blanket/cover.
13.4. Drinking cup.
13.5. At least 0.75 l liquid at the start (water, sports drink, etc.)
13.6. Mandatory equipment must be kept until the finish, and course judges have the right to check the mandatory equipment.
14. Disqualification
14.1. The organizers have the right to disqualify a participant if he does not comply with the norms of public order and the requirements of the competition Regulations.
14.2. The organizers have the right to disqualify a participant if it is clear that he is not able to continue participating in the competition.
15. Protests
15.1. Claims are accepted if 30 euros are paid to the competition organizers. If the claim is approved, the money paid is returned to the claimant.
15.2. Claims are reviewed by a panel of judges.
16. Caring for nature
16.1. The organizers invite you to be responsible for nature and throw away packaging and other waste in specially designed bags at the start, watering and finishing points of the competition.
17. Charity
17.1. Five cents from every kilometer run or walked by each participant is donated to charity in cooperation with the Children and Youth Para Sports Association.
18. Miscellaneous
18.1. The organizers have the right to make changes and additions to the Competition Regulations until October 1 , 2025 .
18.2. The organizers are not responsible for ignorance of the Regulations.
